In the beginning, HOTO, also known as the Xiaomi tool brand in Korea, is steadily building consumer awareness by showing a smart and sophisticated design rather than a crude design like existing tool products. In addition, the customer base is gradually expanding as the range of tool products is expanded to include not only tool products but also tools necessary for camping and daily life. Last time, we met ‘Flashlight Fit’, the first flashlight model of HOTO. Today, let’s take a look at the second flashlight model, ‘Flashlight Lite’.
The product box is similar to the Flashlight Fit we encountered earlier. It contains the product image on the front. However, it contains more information, and the model name is written right below the image, and below that, the main features of the product are marked. You can get more information before purchasing the product. Of course, the basic specifications of the product are also marked on the back of the box.
The product packaging contains the accessory space separately along with the plastic packaging, and the product composition is not much different from the Flashlight Fit we met earlier with Flashlight Lite, a diffuser, a charging cable, and a product manual.
Looking at HOTO Flashlight Lite in near sight, compared to the Flashlight Fit we met earlier, the most striking thing is that a latch mechanism is applied to the rear part. The yellow color hook means that you can hang it in your bag or anywhere indoors or outdoors while traveling. No extra straps like Flashlight Fit. Also, the size is 164.5x30mm, which is slightly longer than Flashlight Fit, but the diameter is the same as 30mm, so the diffusers seen in the previous component are compatible with each other, and the weight is also increased by 14g to 160g, but the battery capacity is almost double. The use time is longer with the increased 2600mAh.
If you look at the grip part a little more, the front is designed with two buttons instead of one like Flashlight Fit. The S.O.S mode is a function used in case of an emergency, so it can be said that it is separated with a dedicated button so that the user can use the function more quickly. And, on the back, ‘Design by HOTO’ is also engraved. In addition, on the back of the grip, you can check the basic specification mark that you checked on the product box again, and you can see the words ‘Type-C’ and ‘HOTO’ on the front. This part is called the Focus Ring, it is a function that zooms the lighting effect in a certain way, and at the same time, if you slide it forward, you can see the USB Type-C port. Simply put, it is a floodlight when zoom-in is in the base state, and a spotlight light that is focused on one place when zoom-out. Finally, the charging cable is the same cable that came with the Flashlight Fit, which is 50 cm long and has a USB Type-C to A interface.
In person, if you use HOTO Flashlight Lite, the grip is a comfortable grip that can be wrapped around one hand, and there is no big difference from the Flashlight Fit that I met earlier. How to use: In the case of the Power button, each time you press the button, the brightness is adjusted in 3 stages. The 1st stage (Low light) is 50 lumen, and it can be used for 24 hours, and the 2nd stage (Medium light) 350 lumens for 3.5 hours, the last 3 levels (High light) 1000 lumens for 2 hours. The usage time is similar to the Flashlight Fit we met earlier, but the brightness is up to 3 times higher. And, if you press the S.O.S button, the first is the strobe mode that blinks quickly at maximum brightness, and when you press the S.O.S button again, it switches to the S.OS mode that blinks 3 times at the lowest brightness. And, as mentioned earlier, if you zoom-in or zoom-out the front Focus Ring, you can easily see that the light changes focus. You can zoom in to see a wide area in a dark place, and zoom out when you want to focus on one area.
In addition, Flashlight Lite is also provided with a diffuser as confirmed in the previous component. Like Flashlight Fit, you can clearly feel the difference in lighting with and without a diffuser, and just use Flashlight Fit and Flashlight Fit without a diffuser. Comparing the difference in brightness, it is easy to see that Flashlight Lite is brighter. However, there is a difference in the color temperature of the two, which is the difference between the LEDs embedded inside.
Lastly, Flashlight Lite can also check the battery status and charging status through the LED indicator on the power button. when it is in Green state. The difference from Flashlight Fit is that the LED lights up repeatedly while charging to show the status.
Flashlight Lite, the second flashlight model of HOTO, has a design similar to the previous Flashlight Fit, but is more convenient and the overall specifications have been significantly upgraded. The convenient part is that it has a latch that can be hung anywhere as standard, and the S.O.S button is also applied separately so that it can be used immediately in an emergency. In addition, the battery capacity has also been nearly doubled, and the maximum brightness has more than tripled to 1000 lumens, and a new zoom in/out function is also applied. Of course, preference may differ depending on color temperature due to different LED chips, but if you want to use it quickly and conveniently in your environment or in situations that may occur during activities, the upgraded Flashlight Lite is recommended.
