Most of us probably have an old toolkit, tucked away somewhere gathering dust. That’s what we think of when someone mentions home tools, right? Cold, lifeless, and unimpressive combinations of steel and plastic. All we care about is getting the job done. But what if home tools, like everything else in our lives, were both well-designed and aesthetically pleasing?
Introducing HOTO, short for Home Tools, a household tool brand founded by a group of visionary designers committed to innovating tools with a focus on the modern lifestyle. Vowing to redefine home tools, we are on set on bringing sleek design to your run-of-the-mill gadgets without sacrificing functionality. HOTO aims to revolutionize the way home tools are perceived and provide a new hands-on experience for home users. With this mission in mind, HOTO inspires people to look at life with a curious eye — transforming ordinary day-to-day activities into something new and exciting they can look forward to. HOTO’s products will find a way to get it done — with ease and fun.
In 2016, Founder Liu Lidan, a graduate of Industrial Design from the University of Essen, Germany, founded HOTO with the motto that “good design is for everyone.” Steeped in experience from Bosch, TTI, SATA, and other industry leaders, HOTO’s top-notch R&D team has obtained 31 product patents so far. Not to mention, the company’s design team pools talents from renowned institutions such as Tongji University, Jiangnan University, Delft University of Technology, Umea Institute of Design, and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. HOTO’s award-winning team has achieved over 16 international design awards including Germany IF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, and Japan Good Design Award, putting HOTO among the iF 2015–2019 Asia Top 100 and China Top 25 award-winning companies.
HOTO believes simplicity is the new sophistication, and less is more. HOTO’s design team aims to rid home tools of their superfluous complexity while keeping them intuitive, safe, and fool-proof. With our line of aesthetic products, a world of new possibilities is opened: starting from slowly driving in screws to gradually shaping one’s ideal life.
